As per school policy, when a student is absent, a note from the parent/doctor must follow within three days after the student returns to school for the absences to be excused. Please make sure you include your child's student number! After two absences, the note must be from a doctor in order to have the absences excused. (See example below)

It is the responsibility of the students to make up the work they missed while they were out. It is also the students' responsibility to learn the material they missed independently at home. Per school policy, if the absence is excused, the students will have the same amount of days to make up the work as they were absent. For unexcused absences, the students will not be allowed to make up the work and will earn a Z for the assignment in the gradebook. Please see me if you have any questions.

Homework is taken very seriously in our class!
Students are expected to complete homework every day (five days per week). Homework is meant to provide extra practice for concepts learned in class. It should not take more than 45 minutes to complete my assigned homework. It is recommended that the total homework for a third grader does not exceed 45-60 minutes each day, Allotted time should be spend completing i-Ready.
Homework is posted on the board daily and must be copied in Home Learning Log as part of the morning activities. It will also be posted in this website; however, updates to this homework will only be reflected on the classroom's homework board on a daily basis.

Dishonesty is treated very seriously in our class (as I am certain it is treated at home as well); therefore, students who are caught changing answers or copying from other students will be given an F for that assignment (tests or classwork) and an automatic detention. Their weekly behavior grade will be lowered to an F and they will earn a "cheating". If student continues cheating, he/she will be sent to the principal's office and the semester behavior grade and effort will be lowered.
